Step by Step Guide to Rose Gold or Silver Grey Hair Colour

The time taken to acquire the rose gold or silver grey hair shade depends on how much hair you have, what your existing hair colour is and what exact shade we are trying to obtain. If deemed necessary, your hair colour technician may suggest using the OLAPLEX™ hair conditioning treatment during the colouring process. If your hair is chemically damaged or has been bleached over the years, OLAPLEX™ allows you to rebuild the strength, structure and integrity of your hair;

Step 1: Safely Bleaching your hair Blonde

In order to acquire the rose gold or silver grey hair shade, we will begin with bleaching your hair to a blonde or platinum shade. The lighter the hair, the more vibrant the tone will feel.

Depending on your starting hair colour, the process may need to be repeated to get closer to the desired hair colour. However, if you are already blonde, you are even one step closer.

You will be individually catered for and our professional hair colour technicians will advise you further on the best process for bleaching your hair.

Step 2: Adding the Toners

Once your hair colour is sufficiently lightened, we will then proceed with adding the toners.

For the rose gold shade, a toner may need to be applied to remove any ‘brassy’ or orange hues that may be left over – this step is most especially useful if we have bleached your hair from a dark to a lighter shade.

For the silver grey hair shade, a purple toner is applied. The toner will directly counteract the yellow undertones in your hair to give you the ‘white-silver’ hues.

Step 3: Dye Your Hair Rose Gold or Silver Grey at Genesis Hair Salon

The final step is to add your desired shade of rose gold or grey hair dye. Your colour technicians will have already presented you the various shade available.

After sitting for about 30 minutes or so, the dye can be washed out with a colour safe shampoo.

How to Look After Rose Gold or Silver Grey Hair Colour

It is recommended that washing your hair as infrequently as possible will help prolong the life of your new hair colours.  However, we will advise you on the best hair care maintenance routine before your treatment.
